introduction

Hey there, fellow entrepreneurs! In our last episode, we delved deep into the secrets of our high-converting sales process. It was a goldmine of insights that could potentially transform your business. However, we can't just focus on converting leads without tending to the garden where these leads will grow. Today, I'm thrilled to share the three strategies we use to cultivate and expand our audience. As they say, it's like watering a garden without any plants – pointless! So buckle up as we explore the world of audience growth and how it can elevate your business to new heights.

The Three Pillars of Audience Growth

1. Build it

The first strategy is the most organic and common of the three – building your audience from scratch. This involves creating valuable content that naturally attracts your ideal clients, whether it's through podcasts, Instagram, Pinterest, or other platforms. The advantage here is that your audience is likely to be more loyal and aligned since they discovered you organically. If you ever pivot or shift platforms, this audience is more likely to follow. However, the downside is that this method is the slowest among the three.

2. Pay for it

The second strategy involves paid traffic. This can be a quicker way to grow your audience, especially once you've nailed down your target audience and conversion rates. It provides a level of predictability – you know that a certain percentage will convert if you get a specific number into your funnel. However, the drawbacks include the potential for high expenses, no guarantees, and the necessity of refining your audience targeting and copy.

3. Cross-Pollinate it

The third strategy is about collaboration – cross-pollinating your audience. This entails teaming up with individuals or platforms that already have a substantial following. Whether it's podcast interviews, Instagram takeovers, or presentations in someone else’s program, this method can provide quick growth with an added layer of trust. Nevertheless, it can be inconsistent, depending on other people's schedules and plans.

The Team JJ Way

In my experience, creating a personalised sales process has been a game-changer in my Now, let's take a peek into our strategy at Team JJ. Currently, we're heavily invested in building our audience organically, dedicating about 90% of our efforts to this method. We allocate 3-4% to paid advertising and 6-7% to cross-pollination. Our approach is to first focus on organic conversion before diving into paid traffic.

Looking ahead, we're planning to shift our focus slightly, aiming for a distribution of 65% in building it, 25% in paying for it, and 10% in cross-pollinating. This shift comes after a year of intense focus on organic conversion, honing our evergreen strategies, and ensuring consistent organic growth before expanding into paid advertising.

What Does This Mean for Your Business?

I wanted to include some screenshots of messages that people have sent me about my sales Now, how does all of this apply to your business? The key takeaway is that a well-rounded strategy, encompassing audience growth, a solid sales process, effective messaging, and a compelling offer, is the recipe for a predictable and lucrative business. It's time to dispel the myth that online businesses, especially service providers, can't achieve predictability. Feast or famine doesn't have to be your story.

This is the perfect moment for some self-reflection. Evaluate where you're currently investing your time and resources in audience growth. Consider the advantages and disadvantages of your strategy. Is there a way to offset a disadvantage by experimenting with another method? For instance, while building an audience can be time-consuming, cross-pollination can provide quick results. Can you prioritize organic growth while also dedicating some time to pitch podcasts regularly?

And here's a little reassurance – a resounding "yes" is the most crucial element in any audience growth strategy. There's no need to rush or panic. You're exactly where you need to be.

A Reminder: Build the House Right

However, it's crucial to build the house in the right way. Don't jump into extensive audience growth efforts if your product suite, offers, and messaging are not in order. Start with a solid foundation. It's akin to building a house – you start with the slab for a reason. Here's a quick guide to ensure you're doing things in the right order.

The Conversion Framework

This free training provides a highly actionable, three-step framework for creating consistent sales foundations without the need to sell every day. Perfect for those aiming for consistent $5k months, this 65-minute session is a game-changer.

Built For Scale

For those already at $5k-$10k months and desiring to scale to multi-six figures, this roadmap covers the steps to create a scalable, sustainable, and stunningly profitable business. Lasting 65 minutes, it's a comprehensive guide for ambitious entrepreneurs.

Conclusion

In conclusion, audience growth is a vital aspect of any successful business strategy. The three methods – building it, paying for it, and cross-pollinating it – offer diverse approaches with their advantages and disadvantages. As we evolve our strategy at Team JJ, it's clear that finding the right balance is key. Take a moment to assess your current focus and consider adjusting based on the unique needs and goals of your business.

Remember, a resounding "yes" is your most powerful tool in this journey. Embrace where you are, prioritize the right aspects of your business, and watch as your audience grows organically, ensuring a thriving and predictable future for your business.
