Today I want to tell you something I've never shared in detail before... how I fell for the "$100k months" scam.

And when I say "scam," I don't mean someone directly scammed me. I mean I fell for the narrative. You know the one:

"Scale to six figures fast!"

"From $10k to $100k months in 90 days!"

"The faster you grow, the more successful you'll be!"

Here's the thing - I actually did it.

I hit those $100k months.

I was that person posting the celebration posts. I was, by all external metrics, "crushing it."

But what I didn't share in those posts?

The cost.

The burnout.

The fact that I ended up in a business model that went against everything that actually lights me up as a 5/1 Manifesting Generator.

So today I want to tell you the real story behind rapid scaling, what I learned from hitting those big numbers the wrong way, and most importantly, what I now know about building a business that's both profitable AND sustainable.

How It Started

Let me take you back to where it all began. I was in my second year of business, and like many of you, I was consuming ALL the business content.

You know how it goes - one minute you're innocently scrolling Instagram, the next you're convinced you need to:

  • Launch a group program

  • Create a course

  • Build a massive email list

  • Show up on every platform

  • Sell every day

  • Scale, scale, scale!

And here's the thing - I was good at it. Really good.

I followed all the "right" steps:

  • I dropped a lot of money on a coach (fun fact, after working with her for a while and getting some great results, she then pitched 6 months of coaching for $100k - yep, 6 figures for 12 calls. More than my law degree. Thankfully, even though I did some silly things, saying no wasn’t one of them).

  • I created a high ticket offer that I launched a few times a year

  • I hired a team

  • I added more marketing platforms

  • I showed up every single day

  • I filled my calendar with calls

And the result was consistent $100k months.

Now, I want to preface this by saying that there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with desiring $100k months.

There’s nothing wrong with making $100k amonth.

But what I’ve learned through this process is that the way you earn it matters.

And this was my “reality check”.

The Reality Check

Because despite hitting multiple six figures and then 7 figures, I experienced burnout so severe it led to a miscarriage.

I was living in a constant state of hustle, and my body literally said "enough."

Let me share some hard truths about what those $100k months actually looked like:

  • Working constantly (more than when I was working as a lawyer which is the reason why I left in the first place)

  • Neglecting my health

  • Missing time with my family

  • Running a business model that drained me

  • Living in constant launch mode

  • Having a team but feeling more overwhelmed than ever

It was during my recovery that I started asking different questions:

  • What if rapid growth isn't actually the goal?

  • What if my business could work WITH my energy instead of against it?

  • What if consistency is more valuable than quick wins?

  • What if I didn’t have to sacrifice my health to make money?

  • What if my version of success (and satisfaction) is actually different?

This led me down a completely different path.

I started studying Human Design.

I began looking at sustainable business models.

I started asking different questions of anyone who I was considering working with.

I completely redesigned my approach.

But I also really struggled during this rebuild, too. I questioned whether I was even ambitious anymore.

I found it hard to not get caught up in what other people were doing. I compared myself constantly and I felt like I was a “fraud” for “going backwards” and redesigning what I was doing.

I struggled a lot mentally and emotionally and it’s taken a lot to continue committing to sustainability.

The Reality Behind Sustainable Growth

But when I started looking into the data around sustainable growth versus rapid scaling, what I found was really interesting and it helped to reinforce my shift in approach and intention.

Look at the companies that are actually succeeding long-term - they're not the ones growing at breakneck speed.

The most successful businesses typically aim for sustainable growth rates of 15-25% annually, focusing on building strong foundations first.

In fact, data from NYU shows that companies that grow sustainably (10-25% annual growth) are now 9 times more likely to achieve long-term success than those that grow too quickly.

Let me give you a real example.

One of my clients came to me having inconsistent $10-$20k months and burning out without any repeatability in strategy.

In other words,  she was reinventing the wheel every week and feeling burnt out as a line 2.

Everyone was telling her to 'scale fast' - to double her prices, launch a group program, build a bigger team. Instead, we focused on strengthening her foundations:

Streamlining her offers

We removed an offer that was way too similar to her other ones and we tweaked the offer promise/core deliverable for each of her 3 main offers so they were clear and sufficiently differentiated

Improving the actual quality of the offer and the messaging

She worked through our Sold Out Offers process and realised that the quality of her sales pages were just not up to scratch (again, because people tell you to just create more and launch and then you rush things and don’t do it properly)

Developing a retention strategy in her business

By tweaking the core promise of her core offers, she could have people coming into all 3 because they were now all solving 3 different problems. This meant improved retention and less of a need to always be in “client-finding mode”

Creating a lead generation strategy that can work when she doesn’t want to

She now has a low-ticket offer that consistently makes sales every week which means she’s growing her list passively, easily and has a plan for getting people into her other offers

It sounds like a lot, but it’s really not.

The problem is that the industry flashes around $100k months all the time and so you put yourself under pressure to always be selling something new. Sometimes (actually, a lot of the time), that isn’t actually the thing that’s going to get you results.

I know, it's ironic that NOT selling would get you results.

But like I always say… there’s no point inviting people to your house if you’re not going to give them a bit to eat and a nice cool beverage.

Just like there’s no point selling something new if you’re not actively growing your audience or if you have a reputation for below-average offers.

The result? She's now doing consistent $10-15k months, but she’s working less and actually enjoying her business. That's what sustainable growth looks like.

Sure, she isn’t yet at $30k/month, but she’s not in the energy of “I wonder if I can back things up again this month” or “what should I work on today?”

She now has a repeatable strategy, she’s working far less and she’s confident in the long-term approach in her business.

That same NYU article shared data that also shows that companies with strong foundations and systems are 3.1 times more likely to be top performers in their industry.

And it makes sense, right? When you have strong foundations and systems in place:

  • Your existing clients have good experiences

  • They probably stay longer and therefore spend more

  • They refer others to you

  • Your business runs more smoothly

  • You can actually take time off without everything falling apart

Here's what I've learned works better than chasing rapid growth:

1. Building Strong Foundations First

Before having strong foundations I’d:

  • In true Mani Gen form I’d have an idea and the next second I’d be on social media selling it. This meant I wasn’t truly maximising the results I could create and I certainly wasn’t getting any rest!

  • Any time I had a sacral response I’d turn it into content. There was no real strategy and intention behind the content I was creating. Plus, it meant I was ALWAYS on social media.

  • I’d create all of the content, but I had no “landing assets” or “funnels” to do any of the nurturing without me. And content without a strategy is just pointless!

This meant that every single result I created was directly correlated to my effort.

Where as now, I extract every possible result I can from the smallest action.

Let’s take offer creation, for example.

In Constantly Converting By Design, we start with something called the Sold Out Offers Process - it's helped generate over $4M in sales for me and our clients.

But here's the thing - it's not about creating more offers or hustling harder.

It’s actually about giving more love and adoration to your existing offer to make sure that you are communicating it in a compelling way and that it's solving the right problems for your audience.

It’s a time-consuming process, yes.

Well, it’s actually not now that we teach you how to get AI’s support to summarise the process and help you turn that excellent offer into a high-converting sales page, IG highlights, email sequences etc

Take my client Karen for example. When she came to me, she was struggling to sell her soul retrieval offer.

Instead of telling her to create more offers or post more content, we focused on refining her core offer: making sure she spent time going through the sold-out offers process and improving the offer.

The result? She went from struggling to sell the offer to "selling one every time I post about it."

Why? Because she spent the time actually considering the 4 key elements that actually create a Sold Out Offer and making sure they were being communicated in her content. And the best part? She raised her prices and increased her profits while actually working less.

2. Working With Your Design

As I mentioned above, before I created any repeatable foundations, I’d just create a bunch of content consistently and I felt like all I did was create content.

Now? I produce 5-6 high-quality pieces of content every week in literally 1/4 of the time.

The best part? That content actually grows my email list which means I’m nurturing potential clients 24/7 without actually being “on” 24/7.

Understanding my Human Design completely changed my approach.

Instead of following the conventional "post every day" advice, I now:

  • Create long-form content (like my podcast) based on my sacral response

  • Repurpose that content strategically across platforms

  • Have evergreen funnels running in the background

  • Run live events only when my sacral responds with an enthusiastic "yes"

And I teach my clients to do the same.

Like my client Gemma who created a top-of-funnel masterclass which has allowed her to take her foot off the content creation peddle. She just had a $30k month, too, which is so cool!

3. Creating Real Sustainability

This isn't just about making money - it's about building a business that can sustain long-term success. For example, inside CCBD, we focus on three core areas:

  1. High-Converting Offer & Messaging: Using our Sold Out Offers & Brand Script Process to create offers that actually speak to your ideal client's desires

  2. Repeatable Content & Sales: Building a more "hands-off" sales process and content strategy that works even when you're offline

  3. Simplified & Strengths-Led: Making sure everything aligns with your Human Design Energy Type & Profile and can be used repeatedly without having to ‘shift” strategy.

Take my client Jess G’s transformation. She shared:

"What I loved most was the profound connection that was reignited with my business and clients once again. My email list has grown, I've forged deeper connections with clients, I've honed my messaging, I've got a lot more confidence in my offer and I've been able to articulate my unique selling proposition way more effectively."

The key difference? We're not just throwing tactics at the wall. We're building systems that:

  • Convert consistently (even when you're offline)

  • Feel aligned with your energy

  • Create real, sustainable results

  • Actually give you more space in your business

The Power of an Audit

Before we dive into the results of the above 3 learnings, I want to give you a tangible action you can take right now to start building more sustainability into your business.

For the next 1-2 weeks, I want you to audit your time and tasks. This isn't just about tracking hours - it's about understanding your patterns and identifying opportunities for more sustainable systems.

Here's what to look for:

Repeatable tasks

What activities do you do every single week without fail? For example, content creation. Are you:

  • Saving your content in a Google Doc so it can be repurposed?

  • Creating it with intention or just showing up to tick a box?

  • Having a clear pathway for where you're sending people who engage with that content?

Content purpose

For each piece of content you create, ask yourself:

  1. What's the intention behind this post?

  2. Where am I sending people who resonate with this?

  3. Could this content be working harder for me?

Like my client Gemma who realised she was creating Instagram posts every day but had no strategy for what to do with people once they engaged. Now she has a clear pathway: Instagram post → Free masterclass → Nurture sequence → Offer. Same effort, WAY better results.

Systems gaps

Look for places where you're:

  1. Repeating the same process without documentation

  2. Answering the same questions multiple times

  3. Creating similar content across different platforms

This audit might feel like "extra work" but trust me - it's the foundation of creating a more sustainable business. Because once you know what you're actually doing with your time, you can start making strategic decisions about what needs to change.

The Results

The irony? By slowing down and building properly, I've actually created more consistent success. And I'm not alone.

Harvard Business School's research shows that companies focusing on sustainable growth over rapid scaling consistently show better long-term profitability and stability. This isn't just theory - I'm living it.

Now I:

  • Work 3-4 days a week

  • Have consistent monthly revenue without constant launching

  • Feel energised by my business

  • Actually enjoy my work again

  • Have time for my family

  • Can take real holiday

And my clients are experiencing the same.

Like Brandi, who shared:

"The Constantly Converting program has truly given me so much more than I ever expected. It didn't matter at all that I moved at a slightly slower pace to the rest of the group, Jazze didn't rush me. But thanks to her incredible guidance, I've finally been able to clarify my message and have more certainty about my next moves in business."

Or Rawinia, who said:

“I’ve got way more engagement on my socials, loads more interest in my programs, and my following is growing fast. This was all achieved by applying the lessons from the first two modules. Refining my message and knowing my ideal clients has completely changed the way I communicate and connect with my audience.”

The Lesson

Here's what I want you to take away from my story: The path to real success isn't about how fast you can scale or how quickly you can hit those big numbers. It's about building a business that:

  • Converts consistently

  • Works with your energy

  • Supports your wellbeing

  • Creates sustainable results

And most importantly, is a fit for YOUR version of success.

Listen, I know the allure of those big numbers. I've been there. But what if I told you there's a way to create consistent 5-figure months without sacrificing your wellbeing in the process?

That's exactly why I created Constantly Converting By Design

FAQ

  • Growing sustainably doesn't mean growing slowly - it means growing intentionally. In my experience, one of the biggest benefits of sustainable growth is the ability to be selective with clients and maintain high service quality. I've found that when you're not pressured to hit aggressive growth targets, you can focus on creating exceptional experiences for your ideal clients rather than just filling spots. This naturally leads to better testimonials, more referrals, and ironically, easier growth in the long run. The key is to prioritize client success metrics alongside revenue metrics - it's not just about how many clients you have, but about the transformations they're experiencing.

  • I get it - watching competitors scale quickly can trigger all sorts of doubts about your own sustainable pace. But here's what I've learned: When we see others' rapid growth, we're usually only seeing a snapshot, not the full picture of their profit margins, team costs, stress levels, or whether that growth is actually sustainable. Instead of comparing your business to others, try comparing it to where you were 6 months ago. Are you working more sustainably? Feeling more energized? Creating more consistent results? These are the metrics that actually matter. The most ironic part? Since choosing sustainable growth, my business has actually grown more consistently than when I was forcing rapid scaling. Sometimes the slowest path is actually the fastest path to where you want to go.

  • There's a common misconception that sustainable growth means avoiding passive income streams. Actually, it's quite the opposite. The key is in the timing and implementation. Instead of rushing to create passive offerings before you've refined your core service, sustainable growth involves gradually building passive income streams that complement your existing work. In my business, we didn't launch any passive offerings until we had solid data from our 1:1 work and group programs. This meant our passive offerings were based on real client needs and actual market demand, not just a desire to scale quickly. Start with mastering one offer, gather data from real clients, then expand - that's how you build passive income that actually works.
